Who we are

Our Istituto Comprensivo “A. Gramsci” is located in Lodi Vecchio, a little but very nice town in the north of Italy near Milan (30 km) and Lodi (7 km). Milan is famous in the world for its beautiful monuments and its economic and industrial importance. Lodi is well known for its medieval “piazza” and cathedral and for being the site of the local administrative government.

Our Istituto Comprensivo is made up by three different school sections: one section for children from three to six (148 pupils, 6 classes and 11 teachers); one section for primary school (354 pupils, 18 classes and 36 teachers); and one last section for secondary school (225 pupils, 10 classes and 21 teachers).

There are many laboratories: arts, foreign languages, sciences, multimedia, videos, watching cds-rom, sports and a library. There is also a big room “aula magna” for meetings and lectures.

Around the school there is a large green lawn and trees. Pupils in the secondary section can learn English and French languages. Foreign languages are taught starting from pre-primary school.

The Istituto Comprensivo offers to its students the following activities:

• students hosting and survelliance before and after school regular activity
• canteen
• school buses
• extra school hours for secondary school boys

In an area of the lawn sorrounding our school facilities you can find our "Biodiversito Park". It also includes a small pool of water. Our schoolboys, with the assistance of an expertise in science and biology(Walter), observe and study the various forms of animal and vegetable life during the different seasons of the year. In our school web-site you can find the story of the "Biodiversito", the different phases of its construction together with the results of our students works on it.
